When I Think Of The Word Successful…

When you think of the word “successful,” who’s the first person that comes to mind and why?

When I think of the word successful, the first person that comes to my mind is God, family and myself. No one has ever reached the peak of success and self actualization without any help. Being successful is a thing of the mind, it starts with the mind, who you want to be, what you want to achieve, the goals you want to set for yourself. And once your mind is made up, you are on the verge of making it happen.

We are nothing without our creator. God already promised us everything in life if only we believe and have faith in Him. In the book of Joshua, Joshua 1:8: “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful”.

The only thing God needed from us is to meditate on His words day and night, and prosperity as success will be ours.

I don’t know about you, but I attribute all I have to God, what I have become and this far I have come is only but with God’s mercy and love, I wouldn’t have done it all by myself and I am always grateful for everything.

My family members are not left out as well. We are nothing without family especially the caring and loving ones who carry our burden like it’s there’s and make everything possible to see us succeed.

Family support is very paramout for personal growth, when you have a caring family who supports your goal, who thrives to see you happy by assisting you to become who or what you dream of becoming, you are really a blessed one. I am most grateful for my family for believing in me, my parents for sending me to school, and providing my learning aids.

Finally, I also want to appreciate myself for believing in myself, for opening my mind and soul for growth, making myself available to learn and relearn and still learning and very much open to new experiences and adventures 🙂

And to you my readers, how can I forget you, you made this journey here a memorable one. I remember the first day I created my WordPress account, I was like, what if people doesn’t resonate with my post? But see us today, we are growing, we are winning,  we are getting stronger, and we are breaking legs everyday 😉. I appreciate you all and for always connecting with me here.

A Time Well Spent, It’s The Best Time Ever!

What could you try for the first time?

There is always time for everything, it depends on what we place our priorities on. Not everything we do in life comes out well the first time, there is always this gap between being perfect and the tension that eludes the mind if it didn’t come out well.

Before we try something for the first time, I believe we have already made up our minds to do it, there is this push, the zeal, and the motivation to do it, and once the mind is made up, the body has no choice and actions follow suit.

The mind is the mirror of behavior, it reflects our actions, beliefs, and motives. Whatever the body decides to do, the mind has already given permission. So if the mind and the body are not harmonized, action will never take place.

There was a moment in my life when I told someone what I wanted to do, what I would love to do that would make me happy, and instead of the support I needed, to my greatest surprise, I was told I couldn’t do it, that he didn’t picture me in that scenario. After that day, I had a very in-depth thinking, I asked myself over and over again, how does he actually see me? Does he even care? Does he even have faith in me? Or maybe he didn’t believe I could actually do something for myself.

Moving on, from that day, I decided to keep my plans and whatever I want to do for myself private until I have reached a stage where no one would doubt my capability. If you really want to do something and it’s your first time, don’t worry about the result, focus on doing your best, and your best will definitely turn out great. Don’t worry about what people will say, worry about your conscience if you didn’t do the right thing.

I love trying new things, and I am very open to new experiences, meeting new people, visiting new places, and trying new food. I take very seriously anything that boosts my mental health and peace of mind. So if you like trying new things, I believe we are on the same page here or what do you think?

The Principles That Define How I Live

What principles define how you live?

Life is a give or take whether we like it or not. What you give in to it it’s what comes back to you. Sometimes we often deceive ourselves that we can easily get away with anything and then live our lives as we please with no rules, no guidelines, or taking responsibility for our lives.

Every human being, at least a normal human being has what works for them, how you live your life, how you want people to see you, and how you see yourself. All these things come into place and separate the real self from the ideal self.

We all live with certain kinds of principles that shape us into who we are and who we want to be. Man is the only creature with the ability to think for himself, to process the thoughts and act upon them judiciously.

If I could state the principles that define how I live, that would be….

*Do unto others as you would love them to do unto you.

*Be kind to everyone, not necessarily to a selected few.

*Love is a beautiful thing, when you love, let it be from your heart and not because you want something in return.

*The world is a very small place, whatever you do will surely come back to you in ways you can never imagine.

*When people show you who they are, believe them the first time. It’s not you being mean, it’s about setting healthy boundaries.

*Say what you mean, and mean what you say.

*When you are not sure about something, keep your mouth shut, sometimes, silence is the best answer.

*Nothing can ever go wrong with being kind, caring, and forgiving, when you show people kindness, when you care for them, and when you forgive them, you are also doing yourself a lot of good.

*Respect starts from within, you can’t give what you don’t have, respect yourself, and also respect others.

My Favorite Artists

Who are your favorite artists?

The Britannica Dictionary defines “artist” as: a person who creates art, a person who is skilled at drawing, painting, etc., a skilled performer, or. a person who is very good at something.

Original artists are often those who introduce new or unique ideas and styles to the world, changing the art world thereafter. Many art critics would argue that it has become harder and harder to be completely original in our contemporary world.

I don’t really have a favorite artist, because naming just one person is like cheating for me, when it comes to music, I have my favorite artists. I have my favorite artists in painting, in performing arts, and so on.

Mental Health Related Topics

Which topics would you like to be more informed about?

The topic I would love to be more informed about is mental health. Mental health is a state of emotional, psychological, and social well-being that impacts how you think, feel, and act, enabling you to cope with life’s normal stresses, work productively, and contribute to your community.

Mental health affects everyone, from childhood through old age, and is fundamental to enjoying life and realizing your full potential.

Most people don’t even know about their mental health, some will be going through some difficulties and challenges but won’t know it’s affecting them mentally. The more we learn about our mental health, the better for us all.

Mental health awareness makes us be in control of our lives, emotions, and general well-being, and keeping it in check makes us stronger and healthier.

Celebrating Holidays

How do you celebrate holidays?

I remember years back when I was still in school, when I had so much time to do whatever I wanted to do. Those years I always traveled home from school to celebrate every holiday.

I always look forward to every holiday because it’s a period of joy, relaxation, fun, so much laughter, and meeting friends and family members I haven’t seen for a long time.

The Christmas holidays are my favorite holidays because the house is always full, aunties and uncles, sisters and brothers, cousins, nieces and nephews, everyone is always around during the Christmas holidays. There is so much energy and it’s always spirit-filled moment.

What I enjoy the most is the different delicacies being prepared and the giving and receiving of gifts and also the numerous activities to attend to, from marriage introductions to traditional marriages, weddings, naming ceremonies, or traditional games often held in the village squares, and also the gathering of kinsmen to thank God for a successful and prosperous year.

The Last Thing I Got Excited About!

Tell us about the last thing you got excited about.

Excitement is what fuels the soul. So many things can be fun and interesting, but only the ones we choose to excite us that does the job.

Life is all about struggles and we need a time, a place, and space to recollect ourselves, to find our peace, and do what makes us happy and lightens our spirit.

The last thing I got excited about at the end of each day was going home to my solitude, a home where I can relax and be myself. A place I can be me and lay my soul bare without thinking about anything or anyone just me,

How I Would Design The City Of The Future

How would you design the city of the future?

Everyone deserves a better future. Everyone deserves to be where they are happy and stress-free. Everyone deserves a conducive and rejuvenating environment.

People hope and pray for a good future, a future with no struggles or pain or poverty. They want a future where they can reap the fruit of their labour.

If I were allowed to design the city of the future, I would make sure to make it a conducive place, a lively, livable, and very welcoming one. It will be a place where people will not have to flounder to get their basic needs.

It will be a city where everyone respects one another and maintains their boundaries but love would be everything in this city. People will love more, give more, care more, and laugh more.

What I Enjoy About Writing

What do you enjoy most about writing?

Writing is how I express myself without words. It fulfills me, it makes me happy and it’s something I don’t ever get tired of doing.

When you write, it feels like the universe is attentive to you, waiting, listening, and enriching you with the knowledge and idea to thrive.

What I love most about writing is the joy of it being seen and read. Writing has no meaning if it is not positively touching life. Writing has no power if it doesn’t put smiles on people’s faces.

So to all writers out there, before you pick up that pen, it is not about you anymore, it’s about your readers and always make sure to give them something original and genuine that they will never forget. Remember you are touching lives through what you do and make it worth it.

What I Love About Where I Live.

What do you love about where you live?

Your home is supposed to be your solace after the day-to-day activities, a home is meant to be your peace that calms your nerves as you step into it.

Though where I am staying now is very far from my workplace, what I love about it is that it is in close proximity to the local market and to my church as well.

I love my peace of mind and I enjoy my solitude sometimes and the place I live gives me this as well. The quietness of the place and the people who mind their business make the place worth living in.
