Accepting myself just the way I am

How do you handle fear and self-doubt?

There are so many things I feared as a child even as an adult and as it happens, self doubt creeps in like a thief in the night. The problem is not the fear we faced, the problem is how we handle it.

• The fear of not belonging

• The fear of losing someone

• The fear of not becoming who I wanted to be

• Tye fear of failure

• The fear of missing out

• The fear of rejection

What I understand about fear is that the more you feed it, the more it envelopes you, and the more you doubt yourself as a person. You just have to believe that fear is a thing of the mind, I am not saying that it’s a bad thing to be fearful, but how you handle it is what speaks volume.

So back to the prompt, “How do you handle fear and self doubt”?

I learnt that the more fearful I become, the more I doubt myself. Once the mind is triggered negatively, it is portrayed in the behavior.

What did I do differently? I started:

• Loving myself more

• Trusting myself

• Believing more in myself

• Speaking positivity into my life

• Being confident in myself

• Maintaing my boundaries

• Enjoying my solitude

• Taking more risk

• Exposing myself to new opportunities

• Spending my time judiciously
