What I Enjoy About Writing

What do you enjoy most about writing?

Writing is how I express myself without words. It fulfills me, it makes me happy and it’s something I don’t ever get tired of doing.

When you write, it feels like the universe is attentive to you, waiting, listening, and enriching you with the knowledge and idea to thrive.

What I love most about writing is the joy of it being seen and read. Writing has no meaning if it is not positively touching life. Writing has no power if it doesn’t put smiles on people’s faces.

So to all writers out there, before you pick up that pen, it is not about you anymore, it’s about your readers and always make sure to give them something original and genuine that they will never forget. Remember you are touching lives through what you do and make it worth it.

What I Love About Where I Live.

What do you love about where you live?

Your home is supposed to be your solace after the day-to-day activities, a home is meant to be your peace that calms your nerves as you step into it.

Though where I am staying now is very far from my workplace, what I love about it is that it is in close proximity to the local market and to my church as well.

I love my peace of mind and I enjoy my solitude sometimes and the place I live gives me this as well. The quietness of the place and the people who mind their business make the place worth living in.

Positive Emotions

What positive emotion do you feel most often?

Positive emotions are what we should imbibe if we want to live a positive and happy life. It is not a herculean task to have a positive spirit, it is how we train our minds, what we accept into our minds and the ones we keep out.

Life is too short to keep on carrying negative energy or emotion around, and the more you think about it, the more it drains you. So it is imperative to align your body, soul, and spirit with anything that uplifts you.

The positive emotion I feel most often is contentment. Yes, I always try to be happy with who I am, with what I have, and with where I am in life. I am grateful for everything I have and for the many things that will come to me.

The saying that a grateful heart is a blessed one is not an understatement, it’s a fact. The more you appreciate what you have and the people in your life, the happier and blessed you will become.

Planning Goals

How do you plan your goals?

Planning a goal kicks off with first knowing who you are, where you are going, and what you want to achieve or become.

To some, planning a goal can be a herculean task. While to others it is a journey of reaching their potential.

To be honest, it is not easy to plan a goal because it takes a whole lot of self-awareness and self-discipline to know who you are and what you are good at, and trust me, not everyone reaches this phase.

There are very strategic steps that one must adhere to in planning their goal for the future. These steps are guidelines for the journey of becoming who you truly want to be.

  • Know yourself>> like I said earlier, the first step to attaining any height in life is knowing who you are. It is in knowing who you are, your strengths and weaknesses that prepares you to face life and channeling your strengths, abilities and skills into things you are very good at. A man who doesn’t know himself has no business with planning for himself.
  • Know what you want to do ( your goals)>> The next step after self-discovery is having a particular goal in mind, knowing what you want to do with your life, knowing where you want to go, and who or what you want to become. Don’t be all over the place, you must be specific and true to yourself about your decision.
  • Meditate on it>> Just to be certain that the goal is what you want for yourself, you need to think about it thoroughly, you need to sleep over it, and discuss it with a trusted family member, a friend, or a mentor who will guide you and give you the necessary advice.
  • Work on it >> After stating your goal, thinking it through, and brainstorming on the appropriate steps in actualizing it, now is the moment you need to act on it. You need to ask yourself these questions, How do I make this goal come alive? What do I need or who do I need to fulfill this goal? What are the necessary steps I need to take to make it happen? I believe these questions will be a guide to actualizing your goal.

Having a goal is effortless, but the real work is planning for it, planning on how to make it come to fruition. But every great thing in life begins with knowing who you are, and when you conquer self, you can conquer anything.

Emergency Preparedness Plan

Create an emergency preparedness plan.

Emergency planning and preparedness is the process of systematically preparing for future events such as major incidents or disasters.

No one plans for an emergency but when it does happen, it is better to prepare ahead at least get your emergency kit or other things within reach.

Emergency Preparedness Kit

This is a kit that was prepared ahead in case of any emergency which will be of immense help for some time so that we wouldn’t be Stranded in the phase of an emergency.

The Word

What is a word you feel that too many people use?

I wouldn’t think of a word that too many people use because people differs and what they choose to use differs to. I think everybody will their choice of word makes them who they are.

A word can mean something to someone but it can also mean a different thing to someone else but it is it’s used and how it is used that makes a difference. People can use a word to make you feel alive and they also use your word to bring you down or to make you feel less of yourself.

So what we should be concerned about is the appropriate use of words and not focusing more on words that is used often. Some words carry weight even when we don’t realize it even when we don’t mean what we say but it can mean a lot to others. So we should be mindful of what we say and the words we use.

So to answer this question in my knowledge the words so many people use can be the normal greetings such as Good morning, Good afternoon, Good evening, and even Good day. Because such words are being used every day by so many people and that is something people won’t forget to say to others.

What I Will Sell in My Shop!

If you were going to open up a shop, what would you sell?

If I were to open up a shop, the only thing I would sell are books. I would like to open a bookshop.

A place where people will come and feel very relaxed and satisfied to read and to research.

There will be a space for light refreshment and coffee for lovers of coffee.

I will make sure the environment is conducive and welcoming and that people get whatever book they came for so that they can always come back for more.

An Act Of Kindness To Someone

Write about a random act of kindness you’ve done for someone.

To me, it’s no longer an act of kindness when I say, or rather mention someone I showed kindness to.

I would be breaking the rule which says that  ‘your right hand should not see what your left hand is giving to others’. This means that when you show kindness to someone, others shouldn’t know about it.

But nowadays, most people help others because others are present and watching, not that they necessarily give from their hearts.

In other words, most people seek public approval and want to be liked, praised, and appreciated for what they are accomplishing by putting smiles on people’s faces.

A simple act of kindness might not be as huge as we think, you don’t need to have all the money in the world to be kind. It can be a gentle smile and a joke to cheer someone up, it can be quality time, spending time with loved ones, or it can also be assisting someone in finishing a herculean task.

In all honesty, I think the act of putting smiles on people’s faces and making them comfortable around us should be our greatest priority.

Family Traditions

What traditions have you not kept that your parents had?

The only answer I have to this question is that I try as much as possible to uphold my family traditions and morals embedded in me.

Every family has what they believe in and what works for them, so parents tend to inculcate in their children the best values and morals which will later aid them in life and also to be remembered for their work well done.

So it’s left for the children to keep to these values not only for their sake but for the sake of their parents so that society will see and agree that their parents did their work well.

When you hear such word like ‘nwa azuru azu’ it means a well-trained child. Everyone will be happy to see such a child and also bless the parents for raising such a good child.

So back to the question, I think the only difference now is beliefs. There are still some old traditions that my parents hold dear to heart that I no longer think are necessary, but are a make-believe just to feel  comfortable and have something to fall back to.

A Typical Day

Was today typical?

Yes I would say that today was a typical day as it has always been for a while now.

Waking up from sleep, saying my prayers, and doing my routine workout. I also did my laundry.

I had a late breakfast probably because I did not go to work today as I was on my annual leave.

So I would say a typical day for me most times is just from my home to work and back to my house.
