“You must be the change you want to see in the world.”. Mk Gandhi
We live in a world where everyone desires and long for drastic positive change. A world where our dreams are focused on a better tomorrow. A world with corrupted mind set, self centeredness, unstable and unreliable government, indiscipline, irresponsibility, favouritism, lack of concern ( I don’t care attitude). I can go on and on. All these had lingered and continously being a turn in the flesh because we have refused to take responsibility. It is irresponsibility that stirs the spirit of adamancy in us, despite the negativities, we feel relaxed and comfortable, but inwardly, we are battling with a reprisal attack to our conscience.
Yes is not your fault, is nobody’s fault. But if we start apportioning blames, we will be heading to a journey of no return. The very day you wake up with the mindset that the world will be a better place to live in, begins only when you’ve decided to change yourself. Not the leaders, not other people, but you as an individual. Don’t wait till tomorrow, or when you are old to start acting that, doing that, and being that which you will love to see around you. We always complain about the leaders, but have you paused to ask yourself “am I a good follower? You know what a good citizen should do and not to do, deliberate on that.
Oh! What a disgusting sight, our environment is such a mess. The residents in the environment are they ghosts? No, they are rational, psychologically and physically complete human beings who chose to be ignorant of their health because they fail to take cognizance of the fact that you give to the environment what you want to receive in return. Environmental psychology postulates that the environment is just like good food, a well balanced meal nourishes the body and provides it with all the required nutrients. This is congruous to the environment, keeping it clean so as to be healthy too, if we fail to do so, if we don’t take care of our environment, it will decompose and in return harm and affect our health.
This change we are rummaging about will not drastically occur overnight, but systematically and consistently it starts with YOU. Through a sincere resolution, and mastering the act of discipline, patience, self control and self respect. The next stage should be seen among peer groups, then in the family, community, villages, towns, cities, states, countries, institutions, organizations, and finally the world at large.
Everyone have a part to play, but individual change is the most effective.
*If you desire the leaders to be more concerned about the welfare of the masses, start being more concerned and showing more interest in little things around you.
*If you want to be loved and appreciated, show more love and appreciation to others.
*If you desire honestly, start being more scrupulous in dealing with people.
*If you want to be treated fairly, always be fair to others
Whatever you give, comes back to you in different and unexpected ways. You may not believe it, or think it’s a fallacy. But let this be an ineluctable thought within you; To received, you must learn to give more.
